December Dialogue: The Refugee Experience as Told Through the Story of a Holocaust Survivor in Words and Music

When:  Sunday, December 10, 2:00 – 4:30 pm

Come hear the poignant tale of a man who lost his wife and son in the Holocaust, escaped and then returned to Poland as a soldier, and finally faced the situation of being a survivor after the war.  His tale will be told in words by his daughter, an expert in Yiddish language and Yiddish culture, and in music by a renowned guitar virtuoso.  The program will be introduced by a Muslim refugee who will reflect on the implications of the refugee experience.  

Featured performers:  

Dr. Miriam Isaacs, a trained linguist, served as a professor in the Jewish Studies Dept. at the University of Maryland for 16 years.  

Vladimir Fridman, a guitarist originally from Moscow, excels in diverse genres of music, including jazz and classical (www.vfridman.com).
